Jane Fonda | Mary Williams
Jane Fonda has been a celebrity her whole life. The Hollywood legend has received two Academy Awards, been chastised for her extreme political beliefs, and built a fitness empire. Even though the actress has maintained a degree of fame throughout her career, one aspect of the former wife of billionaire Ted Turner might surprise others: Fonda has a third daughter, Mary Williams, in addition to her two biological children.
Mary was moved from East Oakland to Fonda’s estate in Santa Monica when she was 14 years old. It wasn’t just that a wealthy family saved a poor girl from a broken home, but Fonda and Mary had a bond because they were similar. Lulu became involved in advocacy as an adult, establishing the Lost Boys Foundation, which deals with Sudan’s Lost Boys. In a children’s book called Brothers in Hope: The Story of the Lost Boys of Sudan, she wrote about her own experience.
